Legacy by definition means anything handed down from the past, as from an ancestor or predecessor, an inheritance, gift and/or heritage.

As Hipnotic’s first established student troupe, Legacy, has been a gift of intelligent, determined and dedicated students and dancers under the leadership of Hipnotic and guidance of Jacy Ashcatrel. They strive to capture, not just the vocabulary, but the meaning of dancing, interpretation and Hipnotic’s vision, chemistry and kinetic energy. With a keen and acute interest in all things belly dance, they support their local belly dance community regardless of stylization (cabaret and tribal) by attending various workshops, attending shows, and capitalizing on shopping opportunities. They have even ‘road tripped’ to Tribal Fest to continue their education and knowledge of their chosen performance style and to support their mother troupe, Hipnotic.

Ever determined and evolving, Legacy pushes the boundaries of the idea of a ‘student’ troupe, by performing thoughtful and creative pieces with presence and poise. It is our pleasure to present Legacy as a member of our Hipnotic “family”.
